AMY: Welcome to the Peaceful Entrepreneur Podcast, where together, we are finding peace in the process of everyday business ownership by improving, one step at a time, how we think and what we do. I'm your host, Amy Stout.

Oh my goodness, welcome to the very first episode of the Peaceful Entrepreneur Podcast, I am so happy to finally be releasing this project and so happy that you are here listening to it. So thank you so much for being here, we have to start with what is a “peaceful entrepreneur”? The way I see it, a peaceful entrepreneur is someone who is building their business, but at the same time, pursuing a purposeful, peaceful mindset in the every day.

Because there is so much that goes into running a business. It can get really stressful, really fast, as I have personally experienced, and after going through some really tough stuff, I have made it a personal endeavor to find peace every single day, and establish mindsets and habits that give me that because I'm going to have a way more successful and effective business leadership, management style, all the above, if I am peaceful on the inside. Because what is inside is going to come out, right? So my utmost priority is finding that peace from within in a lot of different ways.

And that's the entire premise of this podcast. So we're going to talk a lot about how to find that. But what my goal is, is to find that piece within, because then it's going to translate to what I put out how I run my business, how I speak to the people that work with me, how I work with my clients, and it's going to dictate how successful I'm going to be able to be because let's be real, the stress is never going to get less. Like if your business is growing, that's only going to mean there's more stuff coming at you to be stressed about or more pressure to hustle, or more people to compare yourself to, you know, it's only going to go up.

So what I'm passionate about is building those peaceful habits at the foundation. So that when you grow — not if, when, because you will, if you're putting this consistent effort into it — when you grow, you're able to withstand, because you've already established the rhythms of peace.

Do you feel yourself resonating with what I'm saying? Are you an entrepreneur who is excited about their business but feels bogged down and held back by? How much clutter there is in your brain? Or are you an aspiring entrepreneur? Who can't make that first step because you just have so many ideas and you can't sort through them? Are you someone who's experiencing some adverse health effects due to your stress? Do you have headaches, struggle to sleep, struggle with your mood and your mental health? I get that. I have been there and I will be there again because we're never fully arriving. But if you are either an entrepreneur or an aspiring entrepreneur, or just anyone with the mindset of wanting to build something yourself from scratch, and you want to do it with a peaceful state of mind on a regular basis, this is the place for you.

So who am I? Who's this voice that you're listening to? Why do I even have the grounds to talk about this? Well, as I said in the intro, my name is Amy. I have owned a business for two years. Actually, two years exactly as of the day that this episode is airing! My business was built on the grounds of wanting to create peace in other people's minds. So this concept for me is not new. It has been the passion since the very beginning and the podcast is just a new way that that is coming to life.

Honestly, the business started when I saw a video with a business idea and thought I could do that. So I did. And with a little persistence, now two years later, it has become not only my full time job, but also my husband's full time job. We serve a wide range of entrepreneurs, but to explain it succinctly, we provide “done for you” outsourcing services to specifically content creators. And then we additionally provide consulting services to any entrepreneur. So there are ways to work with us on both an ongoing basis and a one-time basis.

Now, raise your hand, if you relate to me when I say I am a DIY person, I am frugal. When I was starting my business, I do not want to pay $700 for a course. nNw, I greatly respect those people who build courses, and I have not ruled out that possibility for myself. But in the space that I was in when I started my business, I wanted to just do the research and figure it out myself. And while it was, in the long run, an effective strategy, I will say that I think I did experience a greater amount of stress, burnout, and just some general tough situations that probably could have been avoided if I were to have a little bit more guidance from the beginning.

So when I was in some of those tough spots, I would often think to myself, “I am building this business so that I can have the life I want. And this is not the life I want.” I mean, I feel like every entrepreneur feels like that at some point. So when I was in that space, I started to actively process, what can I do to make this better? What can I do to build my business structure to accommodate the kind of life I want to live. And the beautiful part about that is everybody has a different life they want to live. So I'm not here to tell you how to live my life. I am here to equip you with ways to process and habits to build that are going to get you to the life that you want.

I've been at this for quite a while. And I by no means have it all figured out. But I definitely have done a lot of trial and error, and figured out some really good things that are starting to work for me. And it's kind of funny, because things have recently in the last month really started to click into place for me in my business. And I often find myself being like, “Oh my gosh, it worked!” Like I think I tried to trick myself to cope with the stress and the tough times by just like putting my head down and pretending I would never get out of it. And recently, like I said, things are starting to come together. And I'm like, “Oh my gosh, it worked! Like something is working! And I like my life! And I like the balance that I have! And I like my mindset and my mental space!” And it's been really cool. And I just want you to have that too.

So yes, I have a lot to share from my own personal experience, my processing, and the things that I just spend a lot of time thinking about. But we are not here to do life alone. So I do not want to be the only one speaking into this, I only have my own limited experience. So a big passion of mine on this podcast is to bring in others who are going to provide an additional perspective. Others who are building different types of businesses, others who have been in business longer than I have, others who have different background and training than I do. It is so important to surround yourself with a community of people who can speak in and give you different perspectives. You can't do this alone. And that's me preaching to myself because I tried to do it alone for too long. So I want to help you not do this alone, by introducing you to some people who have been so instrumental in my journey and have so much wisdom to share.

So this is probably one of the few episodes that you'll actually be here with just me. The typical structure that you can expect is a conversation between me and someone else about something that we've been through, how we've gotten through it, and how what we've learned can help you. A few of the conversations that you can look forward to are: common mental health struggles as entrepreneurs and how to combat those, healthy habits to create as an entrepreneur to protect your peace, why you can't do business alone and three types of people you can bring into your life to enrich yourself your business and give you more peace.

Those are just a few of the conversations that I've actually already had. And let me tell you, they are gold. We're also going to be hearing from every single guest, what is bringing them peace right now, in that moment. It can be in their business or in their personal life. So you're gonna get the unique perspective of each person, and get little tidbits each episode of things that you can put into place, bit by bit, starting right now, to improve your peaceful mindset every day.

Are you ready to hear that first conversation? The good news is: you can! Right now! Because it's already out. And after today, we will have a new episode every single Wednesday, so you can get your midweek pick-me-up and encouragement. And if you're looking for more, we have multiple resources and services that are going to get you closer to that life that you want.

Make sure to check out the description of this podcast so you can find where to connect with us and get a free resource just for listening today, we would also be so grateful if you would leave us a five star rating and review to help this podcast get to more people and spread the message of peace that is so important to us.

Oh, and I did want to mention that a lot of this podcast is going to be spoken from a faith-based worldview. So in a lot of these conversations, you're going to hear us mentioning God, mentioning how he's been involved in our story. And to me, why this is so important is because God is the foundation of why I have peace. I could do all of these tips all day long, and still not have the deep and ultimate peace that faith in God provides. So that is why I simply cannot leave that out. If you resonate with that, and you are a Christian, I hope that it adds to the encouragement that this podcast brings you. And if you're not, I want you to know that you are so welcome here. And I feel very strongly that our content is going to be helpful, regardless of your worldview.

So with all that said, thank you, thank you, thank you for being here. I am so excited to start this journey, and I cannot wait to connect more with you and build more peace!
